Bareman Farms

Yesterday, we caught up with Neil, and met his fiancée, Kelsi. We had a wonderful afternoon! Neil showed us around their farms, and then he took us out for dinner at the local diner. Thanks Neil!

Bareman Farms! They have a sign!
Neil showing us a sweetcorn field. Most farmed land is roughly circular, as they’re irrigated using pivot irrigation. You may recall my earlier photo of Alberta from the air.
Neil’s house!
Pulling potatoes. They’re normally harvested with a machine.
I think all the potato equipment has this brand on it.
It’s hard to show you size, but this pile is only the back portion of a storage bin, and represents probably less than a day’s harvest. Even so, it’s probably about 5m high, 10m wide, and over 10m long.
Treated to dinner. We all ordered the locals’ recommendations of either fettucine or pizza.
We even got a show bag after our tour!

  1. Very interesting to see all the farming being done! Wow …. HEAPS of potatoes!! Yum 🙂 That’s very nice of Neil’s Dad to let you use a “truck”. Much easier!!
That pizza looks very thick ….. was it a thick base, or thick filling?
    Enjoy the wedding tomorrow!!
