Wheat Harvest

On our way back from dinner, we popped in to take a look at Stuart getting some wheat harvesting done. Farmers around here started harvesting wheat a few days ago, and it doesn’t take too long and there’s no fields of standing wheat left.

Wheat, ready for harvest.
Once harvested, the wheat is transported in the red trailers seen here.
The combine harvester, which gets a real workout for a few weeks of the year.
We were well dressed for a visit to the farm.
Ready to keep going after we left. Annelise and I joined Stuart in the cab for a pass up and down the field.

  1. Impressive machinery. Nice colouring at that time of the evening. You’ll have to get used to another time zone again when you fly to Vancouver.

    1. Very impressive, I would have loved to have spent more time looking over it. So far, the time zone change isn’t feeling too bad (considering it’s now 9.22pm Vancouver time, and we’ve been up since 1.30am Vancouver time).
