Vancouver

We enjoyed about a day total in Vancouver. Here’s a few miscellaneous photos to show some of the highlights.

We used the train to go to and from the airport, hotel, and downtown. It’s fully automated, giving me a bit of a surprise when I saw it pull into the station with a small child on the front seat.
The benefit of a fully automated train is that you can see out the front window!
Plenty of logs floated down the Fraser River.
A steam powered clock that weighs over 2 tonnes and has 5 steam whistles! This is in the suburb of Gastown.
Walking down Water Street in Gastown. It feels like tourist central, with souvenir shops all along.
We had dinner at our hotel buffet. This is the view looking down the river. Note the tug pulling logs; it moves so slow that we spotted him when we were just starting and he only just passed the window when we were having deserts.
Our hotel room. We realised this was the first time we had slept in a non mobile bed for around 5 weeks!
