Harrison Hot Springs

After leaving the Sasquatch campground, we traveled through the town of Harrison Hot Springs. Since we were stopping for fuel anyway we decided to take a quick look around. Thankfully, the servo people let us park there, as due to a dragon boat race day there were no other parking spaces left anywhere in town.

It just seems so strange to be in a town with mountains looming over you. The photo doesn’t really show the size of the mountains.
View from the breakwater around Harrison Lagoon, looking across the south end of Harrison Lake (which is over 50km long north-south).
One of the first times I’ve found a view literally breath-taking. This is looking north.
Dragon boats preparing for their next race. They were impressive, too.

  1. Lovely to see the lake, with the snow-capped mountains in the distance! I can understand that you found it breath-taking 🙂

    1. Can’t imagine that kind of thing in Australia. Not sure how close we’ll get to any actual snow though, hoping to get close to a glacier next week.
