Illecillewaet Campground

Tonight, we’re camping at Illecillewaet Campground within Glacier National Park of Canada (not to be confused with the USA park of the same name). It’s first come, first served, so we got here by about 10.30am, and managed to get a spot close to the Illecillewaet River.

Parking our motorhome in a convenient site. We drove around looking for sites that were vacant, and when we saw this one, we drove straight in.
Not a bad site.
This is the view of the river just opposite our site.
The river is fed by glacial meltwater not too far from here. The water is fast flowing and quite cold.
A view of the river just upstream of the campground, from an old rail bridge.
Another view from the rail bridge of the river and the nearby mountains.
Plenty of wood lands in the river, and much is swept downstream.

    1. It sounds like there is a breeze blowing when you’re in bed, because of the constant running water.
