Swan Lake RV Park

This weekend we are camped at Swan Lake RV Park and Campgrounds, which is located on the western bank of Swan Lake, just north of Vernon, British Columbia.

Parked up. There’s not too much to do when parking the motorhome, just connect up water and electrical if you want to use the microwave or air conditioning. Massive electrical cords though, they need to be 30amps because of the lower voltage used here.
The lake is about a 20 second walk from the campsite.
Some of the country is very green, but there’s also plenty of brown. It’s incredible how much change there is between the Fraser Valley and here (mainly due to rain shadow, I think).
This is a new way to regulate the length of showers: a loonie ($1) for 5 minutes. I’m not sure if that’s normal for Canada.
The lake was beautiful this morning.
The campgrounds go right to the water’s edge.

  1. That looks a bit more like our caravan parks here …. not as much privacy, and everyone parked close together! I suppose you didn’t have much choice, since you needed to be close to the Vernon church 😉 Nice that it’s beside a lake though!

    1. Yes it is. I had been hoping to book a provincial park campground, but couldn’t get the 2 nights. This worked out well though, being closer to church and including use of pedal boats and kayaks.
