I can’t speak to the prices of the spices, but I’ve been quite surprised that many things, such as fresh fruit and veg, don’t seem to be too well priced here. For example, I saw apples at $2.99/lb., so by the time you add sales tax of 8% and convert to Australian dollars, you’re looking at $9.70/kg for apples. I also saw avocados at two for $5, so again, converted to AUD, not that cheap. Meaning to check out some more groceries soon.
