Crawford Lake – Wildlife

We didn’t see quite as much wildlife at Crawford Lake as I might have hoped, but we still saw a few things. Generally, it seems that larger mammals are more visible in Canada, compared to the mostly shy and nocturnal animals in Australia. As a bonus, we passed a recently hit skunk on the side of the road, so I was able to catch a few whiffs of what skunk smells like, without having to be subjected to a nauseating spray.

Squirrels’ favourite pastime: scrounging through a bin for scraps.
A chipmunk. They’re quite shy and skittish, but plentiful.
A dragonfly perched expectantly.
One of many butterflies.
Hoping to find a meal from the school bus full of kids that just left.

  1. That must have been so enjoyable, walking through nature and seeing
animals as well and then to thank God every day for his beautiful creation

  2. Beautiful area by the looks of things. You still saw quite a bit of wildlife. Those carvings were very well done as well. Thanks again for posting.
