The Met

We visited The Met (the Metropolitan Museum of Art) today. Technically, our tickets are valid for 3 days, and I doubt that even those 3 days would be sufficient to see everything that is in the museum. We were in there for only a few hours, we didn’t even get into all of the sections of the museum.

We saw the ancient Greek section, Oceania and Africa art, modern and contemporary art, modern European, and Egyptian, with a brief look in Mediaval art. It’s a beautiful building, and there’s just a couple of photos to try and give you a slight idea.

America Today (a room-size art installation).

Van Gogh’s self-portrait, one of the more well known paintings in the Met. His Starry Night is located in the nearby Museum of Modern Art (MoMa).

An Egyptian temple that apparently has seen service as a Christian church in the sixth century.
